 Dahlias are grown from tubers. The tubers must be listed and stored in northern climate. Tubers can be planted in the garden on the last week of frost. Ensure the eyes are 2'" below the soils surface. 

 When plants are 12" they should be pinched, this will encourage branching, resulting in more blooms.
