Common Name: Japanese Anemone, Windflower ‘Robustissima’, Anemone tomentosa ‘Robustissima’, Grape leaf anemone, Tormentosa Robustissima

The highly robust Anemone tomentosa ‘Robustissima’ is the most hardy and vigorous variety of this species and is the earliest of the fall-blooming anemones to produce flowers each year. Robustissima will reliably be covered in clusters of attractive pink, single flowers with vivid yellow centres early in the transition to late summer. With a dynamic, spreading habit and reliable late-summer display, the Tomentosa Robustissima is well suited for borders and as a tall ground cover. 

Anemones are one of the best perennials for adding late season interest in the garden, as it blooms prolifically from late summer through early fall, even until frost in some climates.

Flower Description: Large, soft pink flowers have 5-petals forming a cup-shape with fluffy yellow centres. The earliest bloomer of the fall-flower anemones and will produce flowers through fall. The solitary flowers are born on tall, graceful stems above mounds of divided, grape-like dark green foliage.

Light Requirement: Full Sun to Partial Sun.

Soil Type: Enjoys rich, well-draining soil with high humic content. Do not let the soil dry out.
