Common Name: Columbine Earlybird ‘Purple Yellow’

Cheerful two-toned flowers are purple with yellow centers. Spring blooms occur on short stems just above the low mounding foliage.

Aquilegia (Columbine) form attractive clumps of delicate foliage with sprays of colourful, nodding flowers that grow best in partial shade. The common name, columbine, means dove-like, and the flower was often depicted in medieval paintings to represent the dove of peace.

Columbines are not particularly long-lived, especially if kept too wet. Blooms late spring to early summer.
