Description
Common name: Tickseed
This new Coreopsis forms a full, sturdy, upright clump of dark green, threadleaf foliage topped with white flowers with a vibrant raspberry red eye. They first appear in midsummer and continue through early fall without deadheading, with the raspberry color expanding to cover most of the flower’s petal surface in cooler temperatures.
‘Berry Chiffon’ is sterile, so it won’t seed around the garden and its foliage is very resistant to powdery mildew so you won’t need to spray it with anything to keep it looking great all season long.
Gardeners love threadleaf Coreopsis verticillata but often times find they are not hardy in the colder regions. The SATIN & LACE™ series has overcome this and have proven to the hardiest of the Coreopsis verticillata.
Master hybridizer Darrell Probst has presented us Coreopsis with threadleaf foliage on more cold tolerant plants that look great and bloom for months without going dormant too early in the SATIN & LACE™ series. Even better, they are highly resistant to powdery mildew and have sterile flowers so they won’t seed all over the garden
Coreopsis is easy to grow, making it a good choice for beginners. One plant will provide you with long-lasting cut flower bouquets all summer long.
