Common Name: Red Currant

A very large berry with excellent taste. Developed in Europe in the 1980's, Titania is extremely hardy and disease resistant, both to mildew and white pine blister rust. Growth habit is vigorous and up- right. Fruits heavily, with a long season of ripening, beginning midsummer and ending in early September. A bit milder than other cultivars, but with typical black currant flavor. Good for jams and preserves. Fruit is easy to pick and stores very well for several months. Mature height is 3-4 feet. Space 4 to 6 feet apart.

Currant transplants are small. When planted in fertile soil they will grow quickly the first few years. Sometimes as much as 2 feet per year.  You will get a small harvest the year after planting and each harvest will increase in size.
