Description

A very old, hard to find variety that produces large clusters of light pink berries on a compact bush. Still considered by many to be the best flavoured of all currants, it is great for fresh eating as well as cooking or preserving. Disease resistant and hardy.

Currant transplants are small, usually consisting of 1 stem 5″-12″. When planted in fertile soil they will grow quickly in the first few years. Sometimes as much as 2 feet per year.  You will get a small harvest the year after planting and each harvest will increase in size. They should be planted 4-6inches deeper than usual. Planting in this manner will allow the side shoots to root as they form underground becoming strong branches and making a very healthy currant bush.
