 ‘Cornel’ has perfectly symmetrical shaped petals and a delightful dark red hue. This small ball shaped variety is a scarlet red with a slightly darker red center. A taller sized plant, these really stand out in the garden. These flowers are perfect for arrangements. Decorative dahlias produce more, but smaller blooms than their Dinnerplate cousins.
Dahlias are native to Mexico and are members of the Asteraceae. Garden relatives include the sunflower, daisy, chrysanthemum, and zinnia.  need to dig up and store the tubers before the first hard frost if you wish to grow year after year.
