Description

Common Name:  Pinks

The Scent First® series of Border Pinks recently arrived from England and are known for their spicy fragrance, compact habit and long season of bloom. This tall selection forms a low cushion of grassy, grey-blue foliage topped with double flowers featuring frilly, pink petals with a burgundy eye. An excellent addition to the sunny rock garden, alpine trough and for edging. Attractive to butterflies. Very long blooming and drought tolerant once established.

Deer resistant, low maintenance and drought tolerant, attracts butterflies, fragrant, cute cut flower-what more could one want in a perennial? The Dianthus delivers all that and more. Double flowers stand like mini carnations atop a short mound of evergreen foliage in early summer. A quick shearing after flowering will encourage them to rebloom in early fall. Dianthus is just the right size to edge the front of the sunny border and use in combination containers.
