Description
Common Name: Snake’s Head Fritillary, Chess Flower, Checkered Lily ‘Meleagris’, Fritillaria meleagris
Snake’s Head Fritillary is a woodland bulb that grows as a multicoloured mix of pure white and white-checkered reddish-purple nodding bells. Mid Spring bloom.
Fritillarias look best when planted in groups. They are at home in full sun where the soil is rich and well-drained soil.
Bulbs require well drained soil. Will not perform well if soil holds to much water. Add sand or grit to the bottom of the hole to improve drainage.
