Garlic, Rocambole 'German Red' 1 Bulb
Common name: Fall Planting Garlic
Rocambole garlic is very popular in Canada because they do well in our cold climate. Their flavour is deep and complexed which makes it a favorite with chefs and foodies. Flavour varies between varieties.
Scape removal is very important to achieve maximum bulb size. 8-10 cloves per bulb on average. Skin is thin and cloves are easy to peel
Harvest- Siberian harvests a little later in the season. Watch for the tell-tale sign of browning in the lower leaves.
Storage- Expect 4-6 months.
Rocamboles are more so particular than other garlic types when it comes to wet soil. Do not plant this variety if your garden is overly wet in the springtime. Bulbs require well drained soil. Will not perform well if soil holds to much water.
