Common Name:Â Actinidia arguta ‘Anna’, Hardy Kiwi Vine
Savoury, aromatic, thumb-shaped, lime-green kiwis that are larger than most of the other varieties. In May, cream-white flowers bloom, giving way to the kiwis in October for the fall harvest. Male plants are needed for pollinizing. Highly productive plant. Ripening late in the season. Vines will tolerate some shade. Plants are vigorous and require annual pruning once established.Â
It tastes similar to, though slightly sweeter than, its larger-fruited relative, the true kiwi, Actinidia deliciosa, which can not be grown north of Zone 8.
