Common name: Hardy shrub rose

Explorer series

Olds College Rose was named after the 100th anniversary of Olds College, Alberta. It has fragrant, beautiful peach coloured, double flowers from June to September.  This rose is great for smaller shrub beds, hedging, or borders. Blooms on new wood – prune first thing in spring if required. This hardy rose was developed by Morden Research and Development Centre in Manitoba.

Canadian Explorer Roses were developed to withstand the cold Canadian winters, but will also thrive in warm and humid summers.  The Explorer roses are very easy to care for, needing minimal or no spraying for disease and insects, and are hardy to -35 C with only snow to protect them.  Pruning requirements are minimal.
