Description
Common name: Sedum, Stonecrop
Dark black-purple, semi-glossy succulent leaves with a strict upright habit set this variety aside from others. Small clusters of light mauve pink flowers are produced on deep red stems, the perfect accent color to the darkly colored foliage. With a narrow base and a vase-like habit, this perennial combines well with shorter companions in a limited space.
Tall, upright sedums form substantial clumps of foliage which can be substituted for shrubs in the landscape. Their stout, sturdy stems support the massive flower heads which develop in summer and burst into bloom in fall. If left standing, they provide winter interest and food for birds
