Description

Common name: Aloe

Aloe jucunda is a miniature aloe with small flat rosettes and the bright green leaves have small teeth along their edges with the characteristic white spots found in many aloes. Its flowers are pink and open in springtime, but if the correct conditions are present potted plants can be floriferous throughout the year. This species clusters freely to form dense groups and the individual heads can be used to start new plants.

Flower Description: Rosettes are small (up to 2.0-3.0” in diameter) with up to 12 leaves. Leaves are densely rosulate, ovate accuminate, <2.0” long and 1-2” wide, glossy shiny dark green, and almost ‘plastic-like’ in consistency, flecked with transparent cream spots, surface smooth. The leaf margins are red-brown with a few pungent teeth. The flowers are tiny and pale pink to coral pink.

Light Requirement: Full Sun to Partial Shade. Becomes redder with more sunlight. 

Soil Type: Grow in light, fertile, well-drained, moderate soils, with a slightly acidic pH (5-6).
