Description
Common name:Â Windflower
Anemones make wonderful container and border plants. Blanda anemones are native to southeastern Europe, they produce low growing fern-like foliage and dairy like flowers with bright yellow centers. They naturalize well and make a good ground cover. Be sure to soak the corms overnight in water before planting. These wonder poppy-like blooms are a popular cut flower. Plant in groups for the best display. Full sun is best, will tolerate light shade. Well drained soil is best for bulbs.
Bulbs require well drained soil. Will not perform well if soil holds to much water. Add sand or grit to the bottom of the hole to improve drainage.Â
