 ‘Eclipse’ was developed at the Univ. of Guelph, Canada, and has become a major contributor to the Ontario asparagus industry. High spear count on mature plants
 ‘Eclipse’ is an early-mid season hybrid that performs at its best in temperate and cool growing regions. Spear quality is exceptional with a diameter of medium-large thickness. Trials of Guelph Eclipse show that it is a precocious hybrid, providing high yields in the first years of harvest. Initially bred to produce green asparagus, Guelph Eclipse is also now being used for white spear production
 Our crowns are 100% male. Plants will produce a light harvest in the 2nd year, a larger harvest the 3rd year, and a full harvest in subsequent years.
 How many do you need to feed your family? It depends on how many people in your family like asparagus. 5-10 plants per person is a general rule of thumb.Â
