‘Major Star of Billion’ is a very floriferous and vigorous variety featuring large clusters of tiny white flowers crowded together in a dome-shaped flowerhead, just like pins on a cushion. Astrantia ‘Major Star of Billion’’ is prized for fresh or dried floral arrangements. Picking flowers results in even more blooms that will last all summer long. For added interest, bracts remain attractive even after the flowers fade.
Astrantia is a wonderful woodland plant prefering moist, shady areas rich in organic matter. Excellent for the shady perennial border or for naturalizing along a stream. Plants bloom early to late summer on tall stems and they are excellent cut flowers.
