Description

Common Name: Coneflower, Flame Thrower

‘Flame Thrower’ is a reliable reblooming coneflower that has two-toned orange and yellow flowers that are hot, hot, hot! Add to this a well-branched habit and you’ve got a great choice for the middle of the border or along a fence line. One of the earliest coneflowers to emerge each year, Flame Thrower is a fragrant choice that is easy to grow and blooms all summer.

Praised for their cheerful brightly colored flowers, coneflowers are a mainstay in today’s garden. Be sure to leave some spent blooms on the plants in the fall because their seeds provide winter food for finches and other birds. The dried seed heads also provide architectural interest in the winter.

The plants we ship; In early spring when echinacea ships they often appear small but will grow quickly as they are just waking up from being dormant. They will flower in the first season if planted in early summer.
