Common Name: Coneflower, Smoothie(™) ‘Strawberry Mango’ ppaf
The Smoothie™ series of Coneflower was bred to produce vigorous, compact plants with masses of unique, bi-coloured flowers. This selection produces large, single flowers with rich, red petals surrounding a yellow centre. Ideal for sunny borders and growing in mixed containers, ‘Strawberry Mango’ blooms all summer, and it is a major butterfly magnet! Make sure to leave some dried seed heads behind for migrating birds and for winter interest.
Praised for their cheerful brightly coloured flowers, coneflowers are a mainstay in today’s garden. Be sure to leave some spent blooms on the plants in the fall because their seeds provide winter food for finches and other birds. The dried seed heads also provide architectural interest in the winter.
The plants we ship; In early spring when echinacea ships they often appear small but will grow quickly as they are just waking up from being dormant. They will flower in the first season if planted in early summer.
