Description

Common Name: Crown Imperial, Fritillaria imperialis ‘Lutea Maxima’

Fritillaria imperialis ‘Maxima Lutea’ has very striking golden yellow exotic flowers. The yellow bell-shaped flowers and the high-quality stalk with glossy leaves make this a must have for every Mid-to-Late Spring garden.

‘Maxima Lutea’ was awarded the prestigious Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1993.

Fritillarias look best when planted in groups. They are at home in full sun where the soil is rich and well-drained soil.

Bulbs require well drained soil. Will not perform well if soil holds to much water. Add sand or grit to the bottom of the hole to improve drainage.
