Description

Common Name: Hosta, loyalist hosta, plantain lily

‘Loyalist’ is a reverse variegation sport of the ever-popular H. ‘Patriot’ featuring dark green margins and white centres.

Leaves have heavy substance from late spring to fall and pale lavender flowers bloom in mid summer. Suitable also for planting in mixed containers or tubs, these deeply white-centred leaves and scapes really light up the shade!

While deer enjoy eating Hosta, this variety may be slightly less palatable to deer than others.

Hostas are exceedingly popular perennials in today’s gardens due to their versatility in the landscape. Their subtle colors, tall flower scapes, and broad, coarse leaves fill a niche in garden designs that few other plants can achieve. Their large leaves provide excellent coverage for dying bulb foliage. Hostas also grow well in city environments where the air may be polluted by car exhaust, etc.
