One of the oldest and well-known cultivars of Miscanthus, ‘Gracillimus’ has beautiful, rounded mounds of fine, silver-veined green leaves that arch gracefully as they sway in the wind. In early fall, fan-like plumes emerge with a reddish tint and then age to a soft silvery-white. They are complimented nicely by the golden-yellow fall colour of the leaves.
Miscanthus is a genus of tall clumping grass with attractive foliage and colourful inflorescence late summer into winter. It is versatile from a design standpoint. it can be used as a specimen, for massing or screening, in large containers, or at the pond’s edge. Plant this grass where its wonderful winter interest can be enjoyed.Â

Flower Description: Very narrow green leaves with gracefully arching habit. Tall coppery-red plumes extend beyond the foliage beginning late summer, aging to a silvery-white that is accentuated by parallel shifts to a golden foliage.

Soil Type: It will grow in most any soil, from loose sand to heavy clay, and does not require good drainage. Â
