Description

Common Name: ‘Chief Black Hawk’ Itoh peony, Intersectional Hybrid peony

Peony ‘Chief Black Hawk’ is a midseason red Itoh hybrid Peony that showcases single flowers with deep, dark, velvety-red blossoms with cream yellow centers. A vigorous grower with a nice, light fragrance, this rich looking intersectional peony plant stands up beautifully. Named for Chief Black Hawk (1767-1838).

Itoh Peonies are prized for their large and spectacular flowers, later blooming season and finely cut and beautifully mounded foliage. The aftermath of the bloom will leave you with an eye-catching mound of deep green foliage that will happily anchor the next sequence of bloom in the neighbourhood.

Pictures of the roots are example of the size/grade root you will receive. Our Itoh and Herbaceous peony roots are imported from the Netherlands. They are 3+ eyes. Do not be fooled by other vendors who sell smaller roots for cheaper prices.
