Description
Common name: Climbing rose
Explorer series
A free flowering, very hardy rose. The medium-sized double pink flowers have a light spicy scent. Reminiscent of an old fashion rose, flowers are born in clusters. Highly disease resistant and a great bloomer. Blooms from spring to fall. In zone 3 and 4 plants may be damaged by cold and require a bit more than usual pruning in the early spring.
Climbing roses are great at bringing elegance, texture, and fragrance to a garden. Because of the tall but slender habit, they are can fit in small spaces. This variety is hardy in zone 3+.
Canadian Explorer Roses were developed to withstand the cold Canadian winters, but will also thrive in warm and humid summers. The Explorer roses are very easy to care for, needing minimal or no spraying for disease and insects, and are hardy to -35 C with only snow to protect them. Pruning requirements are minimal.
