Common Name: Botanical Tulip ‘Lizzy’, Tulipa orphanidea

Lizzy Botanical Tulips are a bold red burst of energy in your garden. These low growing tulips are best for rock gardens, naturalizing in wooded areas and in the front of a garden bed. Bright scarlet red blooms have pointed petals and a noticeable black circle at the base of the blooms.

Botanical tulips are what tulips used to look like and still look like in the wild. They are smaller in bulb size, height, and flower size than your standard spring tulips but they are just as colourful and perhaps a little bit more sophisticated. They look more like sparkling jewels than a big brash boisterous flower.

Bulbs require well drained soil. Will not perform well if soil holds too much water. Add sand or grit to the bottom of the hole to improve drainage.
