Description
Common name: Late season Tulip
Rocco is a fantastic tulip with its over-sized carmine petals edged fire red and looking like parrot feathers. This award-winning tulip won the Japan Bulb of the Year Award in 2003. As its large flower is exposed to the sun over time, it opens so wide that it almost flattens out, revealing its brilliant colors.
Frilled, ruffled and flared petals are splashed and striped with brilliant color combinations that are unlike those of any other tulip. They bloom on tall stems amid striking green foliage. Plant them in focal spots for a dazzling floral sensation…a decorator’s delight!
Bulbs require well drained soil. Will not perform well if soil holds to much water. Add sand or grit to the bottom of the hole to improve drainage.Â
