Description

Common Name: Pigsqueak, Elephant’s Ears

The shiny, evergreen, cabbage-like leaves of Bergenia have a unique leathery appearance that is really eye-catching. This plant gets its common name, “Pig Squeak”, from the sound the leaf makes when rubbed between two fingers.

‘Bressingham White’ has pure white bells that age to blush pink. Bernina is one of the easiest perennials to grow! This cultivar has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit! This Bergenia is a large, fairly tight, and upright plant that blooms so heavily, it could be mistaken as an Azalea from a distance. It has branched flowering stems, which equals more flowers. After the spring bloom and summer beauty, fall foliage turns satiny purple-black in the fall and winter, which provides a striking view.
