Common Name: Tall Bearded Iris

 Iris ‘Superstition‘ creates a stunning effect in the garden with its near purple-black flowers (among the darkest!). Prodcing 8-10 buds on each spike when mature, blooming over a 3 week period. Note that blooming time and duration is greatly dependant on weather.

 Tall Bearded types are vibrant and beautiful in the back of the border. Plants form a clump of green sword-shaped leaves, blooming in late spring. Choose a sunny position, with a well-drained, loamy soil. Bearded Iris are heavy feeders, so plan to fertilize in early spring, and again in late summer. Plants should be divided every 3 to 4 years, in August. 

Iris germanica: Wonderful spring blooming perennials in a wide assortment of colors. Plants prefer slightly alkaline soil. Plant rhizomes near the soil surface. Drought tolerant.
