Description
Common name: Low Bush BlueberryÂ
The flavor of Brunswick is similar to wild blueberries. Brunswick Blueberry was originally from Nova Scotia and grows vigorously in zones 3 – 6. Blueberries need acidic soil to preform best. They like a organically rich to sandy, medium to wet, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade.
Blueberry bushes trun a beautiful crimson color on the fall adding a much needed fall element to your landscape. Low bush varties grow up to 1ft and speard 2 feet. Forming a dense ground cover when planted in groups.Â
Annual pruning is not necessary but they do respond well if two-thirds of the growth is sheared back every second or third year in late winter. Although blueberries are self-fertile, cross-pollination produces the best fruit crop.Â
