Common Name: Canna Lily ‘Stuttgart’

A trifecta of colour! Leaves are colour blocked with bold stripes of green and white, flowers are bright orange and will appear in summer; leaves can scorch if subjected to hot afternoon sun, so grow in partial shade instead.

Ideal for water gardens, ponds and bogs. They thrive near water and in wet boggy areas where other plants will not grow. Cannas bloom in the summer through till the fall.

Flower/Foliage Description:

Light Requirement: Full Sun to Partial Shade. This variety enjoys the part shade.

Hardiness Zones: 4,5,6,7

Attributes: Deer Resistant, Attracts Bees, Attracts Butterflies, Attracts Hummingbirds, Multi-Coloured Foliage, Foliage Interest, Showy Foliage, Showy Flower, Tall, Long Bloom, Rebloomer, Cut Flower, Cut Foliage

Care: Occasional Care, Remove flower stalks when they have finished blooming, Bulbs should be removed from the ground before first frost, then cleaned off and stored indoors in a dry area.

Bulbs: The bulbs can be replanted outdoors in spring, after the ground warms to 50 degrees or more or started inside early. If starting inside do this around early April. Water sparingly until sings of life start. I find it used to place the root in a bag of lightly moist potting soil and place this bag on a south facing windowsill. Cannas love heat so this method works well and is very quick.
