Description
Common Name: Guinea Hen Flower, Snake’s Head Fritillary ‘Michailowsky’, Fritillaria michailovski
Nodding bell-shaped, deep burgundy blossoms are brightly tipped in glowing yellow. Many suspended bells, often up to 5 per stem, on arched branching stems in Mid-to-Late Spring.
Fritillarias look best when planted in groups. They are at home in full sun where the soil is rich and well-drained soil.
Bulbs require well drained soil. Will not perform well if soil holds to much water. Add sand or grit to the bottom of the hole to improve drainage.
