Common Name: Heather ‘Calluna vulgaris’, Scotch Heather

Calluna vulgaris is the hardiest species of all Heather varieties. The evergreen plants are low growing and will have summertime blooms of pink, cream or purple that last until fall. The foliage can be colourful as well with orange and red highlights.

Heather are small shrub-like evergreens with very colour full foliage and flowers. In areas with high summer temperatures, provide some filtered sun to keep plants cool and prevent them from drying out.

Flower Description: Spikes of small bellflowers (pink, purple, or cream) cover the plant during summer bloom. The foliage can be of interest too, having red and orange streaks in the leaves.
