Description
Common Name: ‘Bartzella’ Itoh Peony, intersectional hybrid peony
‘Bartzella’ produce very large, bright yellow double blossoms with a slight red center stain. The vibrant blooms stand above the lush, dark green, deeply dissected foliage and produce a satisfying, slightly spicy scent. This is an especially vigorous plant with sturdy flower stems that do not require staking. An herbaceous perennial.
Itoh Peonies are prized for their large and spectacular flowers, later blooming season and finely cut and beautifully mounded foliage. The aftermath of the bloom will leave you with an eye-catching mound of deep green foliage that will happily anchor the next sequence of bloom in the neighbourhood.
Peonies make superior cut flowers, lasting more than a week if cut in full bud.
