Description
Common Name: ‘Jan van Leeuwen’ Herbaceous Peony, Japanese-style single peony
‘Jan Van Leeuwen’ is a Late Midseason White Peony Lactiflora, Japanese-style, with white heavy petals that surround a small centre of deep yellow staminodes. Similar to classic Japanese Higo cultivars, excellent garden plant, normal grower, thick strong erect stems, good bush habit, has good potential to become part of the “good” list of well paid cutflowers, (van Leeuwen, Holland, 1928).
These open, cup-shaped blooms may look delicate but they last incredibly well on the plant and as a cut flower. Fabulous dark green foliage remains healthy and lush all summer long.
Pictures of the roots are example of the size/grade root you will receive. Our Itoh and Herbaceous peony roots are imported from the Netherlands. They are 3+ eyes. Do not be fooled by other vendors who sell smaller roots for cheaper prices.
