Description

Common Name: Shasta Daisy

A hardy daisy variety with double, shaggy, pure white petals around a yellow centre. Very strong stems provide good support and make them ideal as cut flowers. Blooms from early summer to late fall, and most effective when planted in groupings in sunny borders. Container planting is also successful. Grow in normal, sandy or clay soil. Flowers are wonderful for attracting butterflies. Removing faded flowers will greatly increase the blooming time. Shasta Daisy is a well-behaved garden hybrid, and should not be confused with the weedy Ox-eye Daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare). Divide every two years in the spring, to maintain vigour.
